"The girl's name Melania is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "black, dark-skinned". Religion: Saint Melania was a wealthy heiress and philantrophist of the fourth and fifth century who freed thousands of slaves and engaged in lifelong good works. The name was uncommon until the novel "Gone With the Wind" and its character Melanie Wilkes."

it might be the full moon but i feel really low. does this make me a lunatic? i feel i have too many thoughts on my mind and i am tired of thinking. and yet, isn't this what means we are alive? our brain and 5 senses? -- how many sit ups does it take to get rid of a small (by midwest standards) tummy? i can't draw people well. if i took a figure drawing class, could i learn to capture facial expressions and body movements? i wish my pen and paper could freely illustrate my thoughts. do we ever truly have a blank canvas?

i bet Daisy Buchanan was a gemini. i've recently re-read Catcher in the Rye and also The Great Gatsby. it's important to read certain classics every 10 - 15 years. i am amazed how much i missed the first or second time around. Holden Caulfield is possibly a sexual deviant. Jay Gatsby is an idiot, not just a fool. these are not romantic books. what IS romance anyhow?

we had shabushabu twice, saw a sea of fog above the city and trees, cooked, laughed, made christmas tree ornaments, went to a sauna and then into the zürich see, ate fondue (not so good result for me), shared the stomach flu, walked thru basel xmas altstadt market, went to the top of appenzell, met family and friends, shopped, put on a fashion show, had a beer overlooking the city at night, played w/ lovely kids, celebrated margaret's birthday, made plans...
